This was a beautiful, relaxing holiday; the accommodation was outstanding, and I’ll definitely be back. My daughter loved watching the wildlife and going on a few walks along the old rail track.

LAUNCHING WINTER 2025
We had a great weekend at the West Coast Whistlestop. Gorgeous 360 degree views across the Ayrshire countryside with the occasional cow thrown in! The accommodation is lovely with thoughtful little personal touches provided by the hosts. The location was perfect for us, rural and peaceful, but also well situated for viewing local attractions and visiting the beach.

We had a lovely weekend at the West Coast Whistlestop with our two young children. Ella was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The views were beautiful, it was nice to get away from the city for a relaxing weekend in the countryside. The kids loved seeing the cows and all the local attractions.

We spent a night at the Whistlestop as a place to rest before and after going to the Ayr show and it was absolutely perfect. 20 minutes outside Ayr centre but feels like a private cosy little countryside bubble with peace, quiet and views for miles. Ella has truly thought of everything a guest could want and need in setting up the accommodation, with lovely wee touches in the decor that really make you feel at home. The chic kitchenette is well set up for cooking all your meals, which I would recommend eating out on the balcony (accompanied by a glass of whiskey from the side bar, obviously!) to really make it an experience to remember. My son was such a fan of waking up and chatting to the cows in the field nearby.

Lovely holiday let which has everything you need in a home away from home. Hosts are wonderful, and the location is great for visiting Ayr and the surrounding area.
